Almost a year since its launch, the Xbox Series X remains sold out across the board. When it appears in stock, online shoppers respond quickly and the Xbox Series X sells out in minutes. Knowing when and where the Xbox will be restocked is key to grabbing one in time.

That’s why we launched our live blog on Xbox Stock Alerts. If you’re wondering where to buy an Xbox Series X in the UK today, we’re here to help. Is Tesco selling the Xbox Series X?

The country’s largest retailer – and infamous where one in ten pound is spent in UK stores – Surely Tesco should order a full container ship of Xbox Series X consoles to supply its thousands of stores across national.

But that’s not how the world works. The retail goliath hasn’t sold a single console since we posted this liveblog here, having apparently refocused its efforts on selling products that are easier to keep in stock, such as FIFA 22 (£ 60, Tesco.co.uk), Far cry 6 (£ 54, Tesco.co.uk) and broccoli (49p, Tesco.com).

(Tesco)

If we were to speculate, we would assume Tesco’s size is working against it. The fee for negotiating with vendors for an allowance of gaming consoles that wouldn’t cover even a fraction of Tesco’s stores might not be worth it, not when there’s so much delicious broccoli flying around.

AO sold the Xbox Series X

It has not been possible to add the Xbox series X to your cart on the AO site during the last five minutes, and in the last few seconds the Xbox product page has been completely removed.

It’s probably safe to say that the console is now sold out.

Keep an eye on the retailer, as more stock may reappear today.

Could Amazon restock today?

With the exception of a handful of Argos stores across the country, the Xbox Series X is currently sold out everywhere online. So let’s see where else could restock today.

You’d think Amazon would live up to its eye level in consoles, but the retail giant has barely had two Xboxes to rub against each other all summer. Amazon last restocked Microsoft’s console four weeks ago, when it sold out faster than you might say “can I have an Xbox please Mr. Jeff Bezos”.

Amazon is a prime target for automated bots and other blazingly fast shoppers, which is why it has made the PlayStation 5 exclusively available to its Prime customers. The retailer has yet to extend this courtesy to the Xbox Series X, but if it does, you can sign up for a 30-day trial of Amazon Prime to access the offer.

As for the planned restocking dates? Amazon should have restocked two weeks ago based on previous models, so the retailer is frighteningly behind by another allocation.

Here’s where you can buy a PS5 today

If you’re in the market for a PlayStation 5, or maybe just want the thrill of seeing a next-gen console in stock, take a look at our live blog on stock tracking. PlayStation 5.

Unlike the Xbox Series X, the PS5 has been easier to buy in recent weeks. Retailers like Game announce the arrival of stocks in advance, while Amazon is pushing back scalpers by offering the console exclusively to Prime members.

When will John Lewis & Partners restock the Xbox?

John Lewis & Partners restocked the Xbox Series X for the last time on October 5, the latest in a long string of sporadic and unpredictable drops from the historic department store.

While it’s nearly impossible to guess the date of a John Lewis replenishment, we can at least predict what time it will happen. The retailer is restocking at 7 a.m. sharp, which means we’re unlikely to see any Xbox consoles being sold there today.

Stranger things have happened though, so we’ll check them out anyway.

Is the Xbox Series X in stock at Currys?

Right now, Currys is our top contender for the next Xbox drop. This is based on careful analysis of previous replenishment patterns and whispers on the wind.

The retailer last restocked the Xbox Series X on October 7, when the console sold out on the Currys app before it even appeared on the site. Install this app to get a head start on the next drop.

Who will restock the Xbox Series X today?

Fridays are generally quieter for Xbox restockings, but a handful of retailers aren’t afraid to reverse the convention and ditch the console at the end of the week.

AO has restocked many Fridays and typically sells the console as part of a bundle with an additional controller, gaming headset, and charging station, pushing the price over to over £ 600. This deters scalpers, but also puts off legitimate buyers who can’t afford to drop an extra £ 150 on accessories they might not want.

Game and Smyths Toys also restocked the Xbox All Access program on a Friday, so we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for a drop there, too.
