INCIDENT: 4e Degree Sexual offense (illegal touching)

OCCURRED: Oct 1, 2021 (Friday) / approx 8:09 am

LOCATION: Campus Drive near the Art-Sociology Building, College Park, Maryland

On October 1, 2021, at approximately 8:11 a.m., the University of Maryland Police Department was notified of a 4e sexual offense of degree (illegal touching) which occurred a few minutes before. A student reported to police that she was running on Campus Drive near the Art-Sociology building when a man approached her and touched her inappropriately.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’7 ”tall, appeared to be in his 20s, with short, curly hair. He was wearing a gray shirt and dark pants.

The Criminal Investigations Unit of the University of Maryland Police Department is actively investigating this incident.
