TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State women’s basketball head coach Chad Killinger unveiled the Sycamores’ 2022-23 non-conference schedule Tuesday afternoon. The nine-game slate includes seven home games at Hulman Center and two games against teams that reached the playoffs last year.
“After a very productive summer, we are excited to get back to work to continue building a non-conference schedule that we believe will prepare us to compete at a high level once Missouri Valley Conference games begin,” said Killinger. “We’ve added an exhibition game to the mix this year and with seven of our nine home non-conference games, there will be plenty of opportunities for our fans to come to Hulman Center and see us in person. conference over the same period as last year proved to be a little difficult, but we did our best to put ourselves in a position to be able to use these breaks in the most productive way possible.”
Fans will get a chance to see the Sycamores in action before the regular season begins, as Indiana State hosts Lincoln University (Mo.) in an exhibition on Nov. 3. The Sycamores held an exhibition for the last time before the 2017-18 season.
Indiana State’s season opener is scheduled for Nov. 7, as the Sycamores host Saint Louis at Hulman Center to kick off the 2022-23 campaign. The contest with the Billikens will be the first of back-to-back home games to start the season, as Indiana State will remain at home for a Nov. 16 matchup with Central Michigan.
The Sycamores’ first road game of the season sees the Sycamores head to West Lafayette on November 20 for a clash with Purdue. The Boilermakers reached the second round of the WNIT last season. Indiana State will also make a trip to West Michigan on Dec. 10, with home games against Ohio (Nov. 26) and Chicago State (Nov. 29) sandwiched between the two away games. . Ohio also made an appearance in the WNIT, falling in the first round.
Indiana State closes its non-conference roster with three straight home games, starting with a Dec. 14 game against Western Kentucky. The Sycamores will also face Purdue Fort Wayne (Dec. 18) and Detroit Mercy (Dec. 21) at Hulman Center before turning to Missouri Valley Conference play.
The rest of the Indiana State schedule will be released at a later date once the Missouri Valley Conference finalizes the 20-game conference schedules for each member institution.
