HIGH EARTH, Ind. – Melina tedrow was named the Missouri Valley Conference women’s volleyball defensive player of the week, the league office announced today.

Tedrow led the Sycamores with 17 digs in an Evansville sweep on Friday. His play on the field helped Indiana State have a 51-39 advantage in digs and his 5.67 digs per set led all players. The Quincy, Illinois product added five assists and a pair of aces on serve.

Tedrow continued to make his way to the Indiana state record books over the weekend, now at 1,381 quarry digs. She is now only 41 points from fifth place in the record books.

Indiana State (9-2, 1-0 MVC) is back in action this week when the team travels to Valparaiso on Friday and Loyola on Saturday.
