Remembering the NBA star on his birthday


Family, friends and fans celebrate the legacy of Kobe Bryant on what would have been his 44th birthday. The NBA star died in a helicopter crash with his daughter Gianna on January 26, 2020. As we remember Kobe Bryantwe take a look at his legacy in the world of basketball.

Kobe Bryant was a champion on and off the court

Kobe spent his 20-year career with the Los Angeles Lakers, helping them win 5 NBA championships. He has also received the All-Star Award 18 times and won the Most Valuable Player award in 2008. In 2020, Kobe Bryant was posthumously elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

In addition to his basketball success, Kobe assumed the role of official ambassador for the After School All Stars. This non-profit organization offers after-school programs for children in 13 US cities.

With his wife Vanessa Bryantthe two founded the Kobe and Vanessa Bryant Family Foundation which focuses on helping young people in need.
