Monsters rally to score point in 4-3 overtime loss to Admirals

The Cleveland Monsters fell in overtime to the Milwaukee Admirals 4-3 Friday night at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena. With the overtime loss, the Monsters are now 10-8-4-3 and are currently fourth in the AHL North Division standings.

Billy sweezey started the score at 2:35 of the opening period with his third of the season thanks to an assist from Tyler angle, but Milwaukee responded with a Graham Knott tally on Joseph LaBate and Anthony Richard’s feeds at 8:12 am to send the game to the first break-in tied at 1. Milwaukee took a 2-1 lead thanks to a power play goal of Tommy Novak, helped by Rocco Grimaldi and Cole Schneider at 2:29 in the second period. Grimaldi added his own power-play goal at 13:50 on assists from Novak and Cole Smith to give the Admirals a two-goal advantage. But the monsters fought back with Brendan Gaunceis the ninth of the year from Tim berni and Kevin stenlund at 2.15 p.m. to halve the deficit, before a Josh dunne goal of the breakaway aided by Cole clayton sent the match into the final stanza tied 3-3. After a scoreless third period, the game went into overtime where Anthony Richard pocketed the game winner for Milwaukee on a Cole Smith assist with 0:18 on the clock.

Cleveland Cam Johnson made 34 saves in the overtime loss while Connor Ingram of Milwaukee made 25 saves for the win.
