Crossplay is practically a must for any multiplayer game on the latest consoles and almost all games now support this feature. Microsoft has been one of the publishers most committed to this feature, with nearly all of its multiplayer games supporting it.

Ground Crossplay Support Explained

Grounded currently has full cross-play and cross-play support between PC and Xbox in early access and this will continue in the full 1.0 release in September.

It works well between those playing through the Microsoft Store and on Xbox consoles. However, if you’re playing on Steam, you’ll need to use the Xbox Companion app to join friends and survive together.

When playing with others online using crossplay, the host is responsible for that instance’s save file, so make sure they save if you don’t want to lose progress in the backyard . Cross-save is also available between platforms.
