The Google Play Store is the main app store on Android phones in the world (excluding China), hosting over three million apps and counting. It’s not the only game in town, as there are several alternatives to Google’s storefront.

So with that in mind, we want to know if you use app stores other than the Play Store on your phone. You can give us your answer by answering our survey below.

There are many alternatives, such as OEM-supported stores (Huawei App Gallery, Samsung Galaxy Store), third-party storefronts (Aptoide, Amazon AppStore) and simple repositories (F-Droid, APKMirror).

So why would you want to use these app stores then? Well, for starters, you can download the many apps that Google has banned from the Play Store. We’ve also seen some store-exclusive apps, like Fortnite on the Galaxy Store at launch. App stores like F-Droid are also attractive storefronts for people who only want free and open-source apps. Finally, some phones (such as Huawei models) don’t have access to the Play Store out of the box, forcing you to use the OEM App Store instead.
