Author DJ Lawrence’s new book “A Cold Winter’s Day” is a charming children’s story that follows a beautiful winter day spent building a snowman.

DJ Lawrence, who is now retired after a thirty-seven year career in manufacturing, has finished his new book ‘A Cold Winter’s Day’: a charming children’s story that follows a young boy’s fun-filled day in the snow.

Author DJ Lawrence talks about his inspiration for writing this story, sharing, “As a kid, I remember watching our black and white television until the station went off the air and went off the air until the next morning. We had three, maybe four stations to choose from, but today young children can watch a feature film in color on their mobile phone. All of this progress has taken place in a very limited period of time. To survive, let alone progress, our children must be prepared as much as possible to do one very important basic thing: learn.

He continues: “To learn, they must not only know how to read and write, but also challenge themselves. Not just to do what parents and teachers ask, but to seek answers to everything they hear or see. Anyone can witness an action unfolding in front of them, but those who wonder why it happened and seek answers will be the future. Young minds work like a sponge, and I believe we need to provide them with topics and materials that foster deeper understanding. Even building a chubby little snowman takes thought and creativity.

Published by Page Publishing, DJ Lawrence’s fun tale inspires young readers and listeners to discover the fun of playing outdoors and engage in quintessential childhood activities, like building a snowman .
